The quality standards of automotive electronic products have always been stricter than the general consumer electronics. AEC-Q100 is a standard developed by the Automotive Electronics Council (AEC). AEC-Q100 was first published in June 1994. After more than ten years of development, AEC-Q100 has become a universal standard for automotive electronic systems.

What is AEC-Q100?

AEC-Q100 is mainly a set of stress test standards designed for integrated circuit products for automotive applications. This specification is very important for improving product reliability and quality assurance. AEC-Q100 is to prevent various situations or potential failures, and strictly confirm the quality and reliability of each chip, especially for the standard test of product functions and performance.

What tests are included in the AEC-Q100?

The AEC-Q100 specification has 7 categories and a total of 41 tests.

Group A-ACCELERATED ENVIRONMENT STRESS TESTS, a total of 6 tests, including: PC, THB, HAST, AC, UHST, TH, TC, PTC, HTSL.

Group B-ACCELERATED LIFETIME SIMULATION TESTS, a total of 3 tests, including: HTOL, ELFR, EDR.

Group C-PACKAGE ASSEMBLY INTEGRITY TESTS, a total of 6 tests, including: WBS, WBP, SD, PD, SBS, LI.

Group D-DIE FABRICATION RELIABILITY TESTS, a total of 5 tests, including: EM, TDDB, HCI, NBTI, SM.

Group E-ELECTRICAL VERIFICATION TESTS, a total of 11 tests, including: TEST, FG, HBM/MM, CDM, LU, ED, CHAR, GL, EMC, SC, SER.

Group F-DEFECT SCREENING TESTS, a total of 11 tests, including: PAT, SBA.

Group G-CAVITY PACKAGE INTEGRITY TESTS, a total of 8 tests, including: MS, VFV, CA, GFL, DROP, LT, DS, IWV.
